The Chainsmokers fans receive NFT with royalties on the entire album

After the likes of Nas and Diplo dabbled in incorporating royalties into songs through NFT, the American electronic music duo The smokers have decided to widen things up by releasing NFTs that include royalty cuts from the entirety of their latest album. With 13 songs included in the new album ‘So Far So good’, holders of the 5,000 NFTs will essentially receive 13 new revenue streams through their ownership.

To further distinguish the initiative from previous NFT royalty forays, the 5,000 NFT in question will be distributed to fans of The Chainsmokers for free, with metrics like each individual’s concert attendance, music streams, and Discord activity are measured to ensure that only the most dedicated fans receive the fruits of the album’s labor. That said, and as a slight brake, the 5,000 NFT holders will split just 1% of the album royalties, meaning each will essentially receive a Royalty cut of 0.0002%.

Since the cutoff is relatively minuscule when scaled down (although it’s a free NFT, so can’t complain), perhaps the true salient features of the assets are in their perks, as each deal holder gets the chance to access an exclusive members-only section of The Chainsmokers Discord channel, as well as opportunities to meet up with the duo (aka Drew Taggart and Alex Pall) directly.
